We will walk along hiking trail no. 10 through lush mountain
pastures toward Saltner Hut. With the stunning „Rosszähne“
mountains right in front of us, we will gently ascend through a
scenic landscape of meadows to Sattler Hut, where we will enjoy
a delicious lunch. After savoring authentic Alpine specialties, listening
to the soothing sound of cowbells, and admiring the breathtaking
view of Sciliar and its surrounding panorama, we will
make our way back past Tuene Hut and Steger Dellai, returning
to Compatsch.
You will be picked up from your accommodation early in the morning and taken to Seiser Alm. Our route heads north, ascending toward the Puflatsch hut. After a 45-minute hike, we will arrive at the ‚Engelsrast‘ viewing platform. Here, we will enjoy the sunrise and a stunning 360° view, featuring the Dolomites, Schlern, Langkofel, Plattkofel, and the Sella, as well as the Puez-Odle mountain ranges. If the weather permits, you may even catch a glimpse of South Tyrol’s highest peak, Ortles, at 3,905 meters, along with the alpine divide.
Marinzenalm is a small alp located at 1,500 meters above sea level.
It extends along the slope of Puflatsch, the viewpoint of Seiser
Alm, and lies directly above Kastelruth. This is an easy hike with a
steady gradient, requiring a moderate level of fitness.
The walk begins at the valley station of the Seiser Alm cable car and first leads toward Salegg, then shortly afterward along a beautiful woodland trail (no. 2) through the Hauenstein Forest. A gentle descent takes you to a wooden bridge crossing the ‚Strasser Graben,‘ before the path ascends again across the scenic ‚Tschurtsch‘ meadow, offering views of the nearby Schlern, and continues up to Völser Weiher lake. The trail to Fiè lake (no. 1) passes the Zimmerlehen manor and a few farms, descending through Obervöls and into the village center. We return by shuttle bus (no. 2).
We start from Compatsch and walk toward Saltner Hut, located at the foot of the Schlern mountain range. During the first part of the hike, we’ll enjoy the lush meadows and the cool freshness of the forests we pass through. Later, our path will lead us upward along serpentine trails, past mountain pines, toward Schlern Hut. Soon, we’ll reach the Schlern plateau with its endless meadows. At this
point, you’ll finally see Schlern Hut—a perfect spot for a lunch break. Before heading back—and if you’re fit enough—we’ll hike up to the Petz, the highest point of the Schlern mountain range, marked by its summit cross at 2,564 meters. Take your time to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Ötztal Glacier, the Stubai Glacier, the Adamello and Ortler Alps, as well as the Langkofel, Plattkofel, and
Sella mountain ranges.
Our tour starts at the mountain station of the Seiser Alm cable car along Trail 10, leading through alpine meadows to Laurin Hut. We continue across gentle alpine terrain with an easy climb up to Goldknopf, then ascend a steep, winding path to Rosszahnscharte. Our somewhat arduous climb will be rewarded with an unrivaled view of Langkofel, Plattkofel, Schlern, and the striking, jagged peaks of the Rosengarten. After stopping for refreshments at Tierser Alpl Hut, we take the pleasant route back to Compatsch via Molignon Hut.
Starting from Compatsch (1,835 m), we pass by the new church of San Francesco and follow the small asphalt road leading towards Goldknopf. The road ascends gently through the Alpe di Siusi and is traversed by typical horse-drawn carts both in summer and winter. This route takes us to the Laranzer Hut. Some stretches of the path have a slightly challenging incline. After a pleasant stop, we complete the circular route and return to the starting point.
A contemplative walk combined with stretching, short meditations, and mindfulness exercises awaits you. Together, we’ll immerse ourselves in the forest, letting its smells, colors, and sounds inspire us. The oxygen-rich air, paired with our exercises, will have a relaxing, calming, and rejuvenating effect on body, mind, and soul. This experience will help us stay present in the moment, freeing ourselves from stress and worries.
From the meeting point at the valley station of the cable car to the Alpe di Siusi, we take the bus towards Castelrotto, from where we ride the gondola up to the Marinzen mountain hut, a welcoming chalet at about 1,490 m altitude, with a restaurant, playground, petting animals, and a sunny terrace. From the Marinzen hut we take the trail leading up to the Alpe di Siusi, through forests and alpine meadows. The path is easy but climbs gently with about 400 meters of elevation gain, so a good level of fitness and a steady pace are required. After a convivial stop at a mountain hut, we return to the starting point by cable car from the Alpe di Siusi.
The ‚Oachner Höfeweg‘ (‚Oacha‘ is the dialectal name for the village of Völser Aicha, a hamlet of the municipality of Völs am Schlern) is undoubtedly one of the hiking highlights in the Völs area, particularly suitable for a spring or autumn hike. Our circular route begins in the village of Prösels. The trail descends gently past the farms of Prösler Ried and Unteraicha, winding through meadows and forests. From there, we’ll follow signposts to Völser Aicha, partly along the country road, before returning to the path marked ‚Höfeweg.‘ The landscape above the Tiers Valley features deciduous forests with chestnut trees, meadows, and vineyards.
Expect a day filled with adventures in nature! We’ll guide you into the forest, where we’ll observe plants, animals, and water. In a playful way, we’ll sharpen our senses, build shelters with natural materials, or create mandalas. Come and experience the magic of nature with us.
Puflatsch Mountain is located on Seiser Alm and offers a stunning panoramic view of Europe’s largest high alpine pasture and the surrounding Dolomite peaks. As the Puflatsch Loop is a relatively easy hike, it is especially suitable for beginners and families with young children.
An e-bike is perfect for the first part of this tour, as it saves
energy for the actual hike and is gentler on your knees on
the way back. It‘s also a great way to reach remote places, such as Lake Antermoia and its mountain hut, on a day trip that would otherwise be quite far.
